The Way Has Already Been Provided
A way is a path; it’s also a method of moving from place to
place. God has already provided the way, His name is Jesus. All you need is to trust Jesus to take you there.
John 14:1-6
5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Every time somebody reads this verse there is a possibility of the mind rushing to imagine it’s about waiting to die and go to heaven. Indeed it’s true (for those who believe in Christ) that our final destiny is to live in heaven and that has been given because Jesus went to prepare the place where we shall live with Him, i.e., where He is, so shall we be there. Jesus is preparing the place, and when it is ready He will come to get us. This just tells us that the place will be beautiful, if it has taken all this time to prepare.
However, this is not our focus for today.
Thomas did a good thing by asking where we are going, and how to get there. Many people just know they are going somewhere, but not how to get there or where they are going. It is because of Thomas' question that we know where we are going, and how to get there.
Jesus is the way. He cannot lead you if He does not know the way. On earth, there are things only in the hands of God, and there is no other way to reach them except through Jesus. Healing is one of these things; it cannot come except through Jesus. God is not glorified when we are sick all the time, but is glorified through our victories (John 16:33).
We are in the world but not of the world.
John 15:18-19
“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
This means that the fact that we do not belong to the world; there’s a place we belong. That is the place where He went to prepare, and we already have a way to then place. The world hates us, because we are not of it. We go through what we do because the world hates us. Still, we are victorious as Jesus conquered the world (John 16:33).
There is no other style of knowing the way to God except through Jesus. Jesus is the way, because He is both God and man. By uniting our lives with Jesus, we are united with God. Trust Jesus to take you to the Father.
A clear example is if you want to go to someone’s hometown. Who do you need to ask the way or travel with? Definitely the one who has grown up there and who knows the place.
The Father (God) is the source of all things. He is the origin of our salvation.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Salvation is God’s gift, but we get it through Jesus, who is the only way to the Father. Trust Jesus to take you to the Father and all the benefits of being God’s child will be yours.
Psalms 24:1
The emphasis about this message is that Jesus is the only way to the Father and the Father is the source of all things. He is willing to give us everything and He has the ability because it’s His. Since the earth and all its fullness belongs to God, you need the one to take us to the Father in order to receive them. The one who knows the destination is the one who knows the way.
We should always seek the answer from the source. If Jesus is the way, then He is the friend we need. He will come as a friend, but if you don't accept Him and recognise Him as your friend then He cannot lead you to the destination.
Luke 12:22-32
Then He said to His disciples, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. 23 Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. 24 Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds? 25 And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 26 If you then are not able to do the least, why are you anxious for the rest? 27 Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28 If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith?

John 14:1-6
“Let
not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My
Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I
would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And
if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to
Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And
where I go you know, and the way you know.”

29 “And
do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious
mind. 30 For all these things the nations of the
world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. 31 But
seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. 32 “Do
not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the
kingdom.
Instead of worrying about food, give thanks for life; instead of worrying about clothes, thank God for the body. Without life, food is meaningless (picture taking food to a dead person). Without the body, clothes are useless.
Our other focus is in verse 32. God already has the ability to bless you (Psalm 24:1), and wills to do it. He can give the earth and its fulness to you and the kingdom to you, and is willing to do so. Having the item and the ability to give it are two different things. God has whatever you desire to have, on earth. However, Jesus is the only way to the one who has the ability to give you the kingdom (the Father).
The only thing you need and should desire is Jesus. With Jesus there is provision for food, clothing, wisdom etc. Jesus is all you need. God is not mean, which is why He provided and let us know of the way to Him and all He has available for us.
Everything has been given to Jesus, as we see in verse 27. Connect with Jesus, as He has everything. He starts working when you take your burdens to Him, and acknowledge Him as the way (John 8:36). Any other way we chose apart from Jesus will crumble.

To experience Him who is the way and live in
fullness of God’s blessings, there are a few things we should do:
- Know Him - be His own: 'But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God,' John 1:12-13. Know Him and walk with Him.
- Have faith in Him: Faith in Jesus changes everything. If you expect Him to give you all provisions of His kingdom, please Him by having faith in Him. 'But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him,' Hebrews 11:6. Faith begins with a total abandonment of oneself into God’s care.
- Never allow worry in your life. Worry will come. If you feel worry approaching, speak to it and tell it "I will not worry, I have faith in one who never fails; I'll leave all things to God, Who never sleeps and never slumbers, watching over me." Acknowledge God in your situation, and you will find rest.
- Seek the kingdom of God. 'But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you,' Matthew 6:33. The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 4:17). So how do I seek the kingdom of God? First, be in the Holy Spirit, then purpose to walk and live in the righteousness of God, being at peace with God, with yourself and with others. Have the kind of joy that no one can take away.
