Looking Up

Mark 16:1-8
Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him. 2 Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. 3 And they said among themselves, “Who will roll the stone from the door of the tomb for us?” 4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away—for it was very large. 5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed.

6 But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. 7 But go, tell His disciples—and Peter—that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.”

8 So they went out quickly and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed. And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

The women, as we see, were ready to be identified with the dead Jesus. The women rose up early in the morning and ensured that the spices were ready, to go and present to the body of Christ. As intercessors, we have to rise up early in the morning and prepare sweet smelling spices, go to the tomb and ensure that we bring a fragrance as we prepare the body of Christ, the church. We have to rise up early in the morning to make intercession for one another, as a church. The Bible says that the prayers of the righteous are as sweet smelling aroma to the Lord.

The church is asleep. It is for us to rise up early in the morning, go to the tomb and prepare the body, praying for the body. Prepare some spices.

Just like there was a stone and they knew it, they never stopped, though they wondered who will roll away the stone. They went ahead, not being stopped by the fact that there lay a stone ahead. Do not allow yourself to be stopped. Press on. If the women would have quit before they got there, they would have been discouraged, and missed out on an opportunity to find the stone rolled away.

Press on, a day is coming, and it is now. The stone will be removed tonight. The women did not have a negative mentality, but rather they looked up, and saw things differently, in a different perspective. Looking down is self-pity and murmuring, which causes you to remain in the same situations for long. Let us not give up, let look up. The stone you are fearing has already been removed, fear no more.

Psalm 121
I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.

Do not get tired of looking up. Look up in the morning, afternoon and evening, and the Lord will show up, as He is faithful. When we look up, we will focus on Jesus. When we look down, we will focus on our problems, frustrations etc.

The women, upon getting to the tomb, did not stay outside; they went in. Do not stay outside; go in the tomb. When the women entered in the tomb, they saw the man in white linen. Enter in.

In Ezekiel 47, Ezekiel met a man, who was measuring the waters. If we remain in the shallow waters, we will remain in troubles. We should enter in and swim in the Spirit. There is an angel who is waiting for us to enter in, into another level of prayer life, another level of reading the word of God, another level of knowing God properly.

Instead of just writing resolutions, we should pray over the resolutions. Our number one resolution should be to know God better. We will only know God better on our knees, reading the word and doing the word.

As you enter in, great things will happen in your life. God will change your life for the better. There is an angel who has been waiting for you, and will hold your hand when you get in. there outside in the shallow waters there is a lot of noise, murmuring, self-pity, backbiting, babbling, etc. If you do not want to hear the noise of the frogs in the green shallow waters, go deeper in the water. Go deeper in prayer, word, spiritual matters.

You will be overwhelmed by going deeper, and even asking God for spiritual gifts. Just like God gave Solomon spiritual gifts and all other things followed, we should ask God as a first thing for spiritual gifts, and all other things will be added (Matthew 6:33). Go in and receive that which is yours.

The lepers took a bold step and went in to the Syrian camp and God magnified their steps, and they ended up eating and being full. Esther also went in to the king and obtained favour thereof, taking the risk of perishing. Let us go in fully, for in there we are being awaited for.

When they entered in, they got a message from the angel that Jesus had gone before them, into Galilee. They came to look for Jesus, but did not find Him where they left Him, having left behind his grave clothes. We should also leave behind our grave clothes, and press on. They will not find us where they left us. Do not be stagnant; they should not find you where they left you. Do not remain where you were in 2013; move on to another level. Jesus did not live in the grave forever; He removed the clothes and moved out.

Shadrack, Misheck and Abednego went in the fire and the fourth man appeared, and got them out of the fire. Do not be afraid of going into the fire; go in, and the fourth man will appear and get you out. Make a U-turn in your life, do not continue going round the same mountain, making it long. Let us arise and move on.

When the ladies were told Jesus was not in the tomb, they moved on to Galilee, to see Jesus. Move on to your Galilee, to find Jesus. Make your knees your Galilee, and you will meet Jesus, and tell the other disciples that He is not dead, He is alive.

Ask the Father to help you to make a U-turn in your place of work, spiritual matters, ministry, life etc., and your life will never remain the same again. When you make a U-turn, they will look for you and not find you. Somebody will be there to tell them that you are no longer there, that you have left. As you make the U-turn in your life, God will promote you. You will get to the point of making the U-turn by first of all going in the tomb, after preparing the sweet smelling spices, on your knees.

God will prove Himself faithful as we seek Him.

Amen.
