Arise, for Your Miracle Awaits You

Time has come that we arise from any uncomfortable situations we are in, and jump right into our miracle. Some people do not want to get up from the habits of sin, walking round and round and so on, but the Lord wants us to arise and walk into what He has in store for us.

2 Kings 6:24-30
And it happened after this that Ben-Hadad king of Syria gathered all his army, and went up and besieged Samaria. 25 And there was a great famine in Samaria; and indeed they besieged it until a donkey's head was sold for eighty shekels of silver, and one-fourth of a kab of dove droppings for five shekels of silver. 26 Then, as the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried out to him, saying, "Help, my lord, O king!" 27 And he said, "If the LORD does not help you, where can I find help for you? From the threshing floor or from the winepress?" 28 Then the king said to her, "What is troubling you?" And she answered, "This woman said to me, 'Give your son, that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow.' 29 "So we boiled my son, and ate him. And I said to her on the next day, 'Give your son, that we may eat him'; but she has hidden her son." 30 Now it happened, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he tore his clothes; and as he passed by on the wall, the people looked, and there underneath he had sackcloth on his body.

2 Kings 7:1-10
Then Elisha said, "Hear the word of the LORD. Thus says the LORD: 'Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.'" 2 So an officer on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God and said, "Look, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, could this thing be?" And he said, "In fact, you shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it." 3  Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, "Why are we sitting here until we die? 4 "If we say, 'We will enter the city,' the famine is in the city, and we shall die there. And if we sit here, we die also. Now therefore, come, let us surrender to the army of the Syrians. If they keep us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall only die." 5 And they rose at twilight to go to the camp of the Syrians; and when they had come to the outskirts of the Syrian camp, to their surprise no one was there. 6 For the Lord had caused the army of the Syrians to hear the noise of chariots and the noise of horses-the noise of a great army; so they said to one another, "Look, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians to attack us!" 7 Therefore they arose and fled at twilight, and left the camp intact-their tents, their horses, and their donkeys-and they fled for their lives. 8 And when these lepers came to the outskirts of the camp, they went into one tent and ate and drank, and carried from it silver and gold and clothing, and went and hid them; then they came back and entered another tent, and carried some from there also, and went and hid it. 9 Then they said to one another, "We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news, and we remain silent. If we wait until morning light, some punishment will come upon us. Now therefore, come, let us go and tell the king's household." 10 So they went and called to the gatekeepers of the city, and told them, saying, "We went to the Syrian camp, and surprisingly no one was there, not a human sound-only horses and donkeys tied, and the tents intact."

Matthew 11:25-30
At that time Jesus answered and said, "I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes. 26 "Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. 27 "All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. 28 "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

We have got to get out so that we can get in. We have to come to a level that we get uncomfortable when we live lives that do not reflect the glory of God. A time comes when believers get comfortable in sin, poverty, sickness and so on. These are lies of the devil. We have been redeemed, and God wants people who will represent Him and glorify Him. We have to get uncomfortable with such situations and get up to walk in what God wants us to enjoy, what was paid for by Jesus. By being comfortable in situations that do not glorify God, we hinder many from getting to admire the God that we serve and represent.

The Bible tells us to be transformed by the renewing of our mind (Rom. 12:1). We should choose not to go for anything lesser than the best, so that we can represent God with excellence. We have got to reach a point of walking in truth, saying things as they are, as opposed to lying, and shaming our God to an extent of causing people to say if that was our God they would rather not get saved. We have to step out from any uncomfortable situation, and walk in God’s perfect will and purpose for us.

The lepers had sat down outside the city, being comfortable in the situations they were in. Samaria was besieged (sorrounded), and there was so much desperation and hopelessness, to an extent that a dove’s dung and the head of a donkey were sold for food. Worse still, they got to an extent of eating their own babies. That is how desperate the situation was. Fast forward to today, still, many Christians walk in a state of desperation, walking like they are beleaguered, feeling surrounded by sicknesses, poverty, unbelief and so on. What is that situation that seemed to have besieged you? Today I want you to get tired of that situation. We have to get tired of situations that hinder us from supporting the spreading of the gospel, and so on. We have to represent God and do what God wants us to do.

Identify any situation in your life that is besieging you, that is making you feel like you are surrounded. Could it be doubting the word of God? You believe what the newspaper, radios and so on are saying, but have doubt when it comes to the word of God. Is it hatred that surrounds you? What has made you feel desperate, hopeless, to an extent of doing things that do not please or glorify God? Start looking at those things, those patterns that hinder you from reaching God’s standard for your life. Those situations should make you realize that you need a prophet in your life, as the king realized and brought Elisha into the situation. The word of God is spirit and life (John 6:63), so when Elisha got up and spoke God’s word to the situation, things changed, the atmosphere shifted. Even in those days, there is one who doubted the word of God, just like Thomas did, years later, and ended up missing out on God.

When a prophet has been sent into your life, you will know that he is God sent into your life. It may be the sister or the brother seated next to you, so open your eyes. They will speak the word of God into your life, turning situations in your life and turning your life around. Discern and pick the right prophet, who God sent into your life. We are not of those who will be cheated. Before you also go to speak the word into someone’s life, listen and allow God's peace to lead you to what to speak to someone else. Discern who you are allowing to lay hands on you, who you are going to search for concerning what God is saying. If it is not lining up to what God is saying in your life, not lining up to His word, do not listen to it. You can also be a prophet in your own life, speaking the word of God into your own life. Before God formed you in your mother’s womb, He ordained you as a prophet to the nations (Jeremiah 1:5). You do not have to wait for an Elisha to come to prophesy to you; pick the word of God, discern what God is saying and speak it into your life. A time has come that we stop running up, down, left, right and center, looking for Elishas to speak into our lives. Yes, there are men of God who have the ministry of prophecy, but believe that God can also speak through you, into your life and into the life of someone else.

When the word of God is spoken, which is spirit; the situations, the trees and natural things all listen and align to what the word of God is saying. The word that Elisha spoke was working in the air, even outside Samaria, where the Syrian army was. The word that you speak is powerful and goes on ahead of you to command situations. Whatever you speak is what will happen, because of the power that words carry. If you wake up and say that your day will be messed up, it will, as all your situations will obey you and line up to your words, and vice versa. Speak the word of God in the morning, command situations to align to God’s purpose, and they will.

The word that Elisha spoke found its way, and brought breakthrough to the entire nation of Israel. Are you the Elisha who is being awaited to change things in your family, or surrounding? Listen, receive and speak the word every day, over and over again, over your family and situations, and things will change, as what you speak is what will happen. No matter how far whoever you are speaking to is, the word you speak will flow and reach to them, as the word is spirit, and knows no boundaries, distance or situations. I appreciate praying in your heart, but time comes for us to speak out, for the situations to hear and obey, just like Jesus Who did not call out Lazarus in His heart, but rather called out aloud (John 11:41-44). Do not be afraid of people hearing you pray; however the Spirit leads you to pray, pray and speak those words aloud; those are the words that may avert the accident, change the situation etc. When the word stirs you up, like it did the lepers, wake up and leave. Jump until you get to your abundance, to your breakthrough.

The noise that was supposed to embarrass the lepers was amplified to become the sound that brought breakthrough to the whole nation of Israel. The situation and sound that you have been ashamed of is what God will turn around, amplify and use to bring breakthrough to your situation, to the people around you. When you get out from your comfortable situation, like the lepers, do not settle or pause along the way. Move on and rest at nothing lesser than the best. Walk until you get in. God used the gear of faith the lepers applied and caused everyone at the camp of Syria to disappear. What is that environment and situation in your life that caused people to mock you? Is it poverty? Is it joblessness? Step out to your breakthrough, as God is speaking into your life right now. There are times you feel like pausing along the way and feel good, but, like Peter, step out of the boat and walk on your situations; unlike him, do not pause along the way, as when you pause, you will sink. Have you stopped living in sin, have gotten out, and are supposed to walk in your breakthrough? Do not go back to the sin, trying to buy the head of the donkey, the dove’s dung and feeding on your children; continue until you reach, leaving behind your sinful ways.

Peter, James and John went to the mountain to worship, and during the transfiguration, Peter felt like they had reached, and asked Jesus if they would settle there and get tents (Matt. 17:1-4). Peter did not understand that soon he would be becoming the great apostle. Get out from that situation, and get to where God wants you to be.

What is it that will make somebody not cross over to their breakthrough?

  • Getting comfortable with the situations that do not please God. This is being okay with the status quo. Identify what has besieged you, any discomfort in your situation, and get tired of it. When you know that that is a situation that does not please God, get out, getting into the purpose of the living God. Are you tired of that situation? Go down on your knees like Hannah, who went on her knees and prayed, while everyone else was eating (1 Sam. 1:7). Are you tired of barrenness, at work and so on? Like Hannah, go on your knees and receive your breakthrough. If the Spirit leads you to make a vow or promise like Hannah, do it, to get out of that situation and in to your miracle. What promise are you being led to make to God today? Make a commitment before the Lord, as the Lord honours our commitment.
  • Abide in Jesus, and let His word abide in you. If you do not know Him, you had better know Him, without wavering. In our third opening text, Jesus called unto us to come to Him to get help and rest. If your help is not from Jesus, you will find yourself get back into your situation. If you want to get in and never go back to your former situation, come to Jesus and stay in Him. Many Christians get blessed and forget where they had come from, thus treating Jesus like a supermarket. Jesus is looking for fellowship, seeking Him day and night, loving the Blesser. Could it be that if God used your situation for His glory and caused you to receive all you have been believing Him for, you would be proud and neglect fellowship with Him? Could it be that if He allowed you to have that job, have that abundance; you would neglect fellowshipping with other believers and so on? Could it be that you are waiting on God, while God is waiting on you? The Lord has no problem giving us what we need; the question is, will we remain to be who we were, even after getting those things, or will we be changed by the things?
  • Keep speaking positively all the time. Even when situations are negative, speak positive to your situation, as the word is life and is power. At the end of it all, the mess that you have always been in will be a message. The mess of the lepers became a message, for us to talk about even today.

Come and dine, the Master is calling us. Are we ready to get out of the comfortable situations to where God wants us to be, from barrenness to fruitfulness, from nakedness to being clothed with His glory? Purpose to remain in the purpose of God, representing God. A Christian can choose to stay at a status quo, but the same Christian can choose to apply a higher gear and land comfortably to the other side. Apply the gear of faith that will make you represent God well.

Blessings.
