There is Always a Substitute for You

Book: Esther 2:2,4,10,15-18
What is a substitute? Who is a substitute?
A substitute is something that can stand-in place of another and probably be better.
In persona, a substitute is someone who can fill your shoes; can take your place and in the spiritual sense, the second choice is better than the first.
Let’s take a look at the verses below:
Esther 2:2 New King James Version (NKJV)
Then the king’s servants who attended him said: “Let beautiful young virgins be sought for the king;
Esther 2:4 New King James Version (NKJV)
Then let the young woman who pleases the king be queen instead of Vashti.”
This thing pleased the king, and he did so.
Esther 2:10 New King James Version (NKJV)
10 Esther had not [a]revealed her people or family, for Mordecai had charged her not to reveal it.
Esther 2:15-18 New King James Version (NKJV)
15 Now when the turn came for Esther the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her as his daughter, to go in to the king, she requested nothing but what Hegai the king’s eunuch, the custodian of the women, advised. And Esther obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her. 16 So Esther was taken to King Ahasuerus, into his royal palace, in the tenth month, which is the month of Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign. 17 The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti. 18 Then the king made a great feast, the Feast of Esther, for all his officials and servants; and he proclaimed a holiday in the provinces and gave gifts according to the [a]generosity of a king.
To explain the meaning of a substitute, we’ll have a look at the illustration of a football field.
A football team contains 11 players selected to begin the match, substitutes and a coach who are ready to back the team. In case of an injury or poor performance, the coach substitutes the non-performing players with the substitutes who come in with new energy, new knowledge and performs better than the former.
The Book of Esther talks about the substitution of the Queen Vashti, who through her disobedience brought forth a new appointment/ substitution who was better than the former; Queen Esther.
Believers, understand that in our lives we all have a substitute who comes forth. It is evident that Kings, Managers, Leaders, presidents have been replaced once they are out of their positions.
Reading the Book of Esther, she(Esther) was subjected to grooming and preparation before being presented to the King. Through her obedience (listening to Mortdecai) to be silent of her identity, to do as she is told, she replaced Vashti and had Grace and Favour with ALL men (including the King).
Believers, obedience to the will of God will keep you in Grace and Favour all the days of your life. **Understand that disobedience (even from you) brings forth a substitution/replacement.
Brethren, purpose to stay in the will of God in your appointed purpose and even when you are in the high places, remain in God.
Be blessed.
