PURPOSE( By Apostle Mary)
Purpose is the reason for something or someone. All that was made by God was made for a reason. This implies that we too were made for a reason; we all have a purpose in life. For us to fulfill the purpose which God had laid out for us even before the foundations of the world were laid, we need to grow, to mature and to have understanding.
We should be aware that its not just us as humans that have a purpose, even that devil has a purpose; to kill, steal and to destroy ( John 10:10). How then do we get clarity on the purpose that God has for us, how do we know our purpose in life? Here is how:
- Prayer - spend time in the presence of the Lord. Prayer will help you to: know and understand your purpose; be prepared and ready to fulfill it; be equipped and enabled to fulfill it.
- Read the word - all that was written was written for our teaching, instruction, rebuke and learning. Knowing what the word says will help you to know what God has in mind for you with revelations for the Holy Spirit.
- Stay in fellowship - fellowship helps you to connect with brethren and learn from them and edify each other in the faith. Its is in fellowship that we find encouragement and and edification.
- Purpose is from God: it is God that gives man a purpose: Ephesians 2:10; Romans 8:28; Isaiah 46:10; Ephesians 1:11.
- Purpose is accounted for: for we all have a purpose we shall be required to give an account to God: Matthew 25:14-30; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Romans 14:12.
- Purpose has a good reward; those who remain faithful and fulfill their purpose shall be rewarded by the Lord; Matthew 16:27; Colossians 3:23-24; Revelation 22:12.
- Poor health - this can be brought about by poor sleeping and feeding habits, poor hygiene and purity. We should always remember that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit that should be taken care of. Isaiah 38:18-19; Psalms 115:17-18; 3John 1:2.
- Laziness - those who are lazy do not accomplish anything instead they spend a lot of time doing nothing; something that the Lord condemns. Ecclesiastes 9:10; Colossians 3:23-24; 2 Thessalonians 3:10; Proverbs 10:4.
- Poor time management - we need to be able to mange our time wisely to fulfill all that was planned out for us. Ephesians 3:15-16; Psalms 90:12; Proverbs 13:14.
