Faith That Propels Us To Destiny

For the past 6 Sundays we have been talking about the path of our destiny, and today we will talk about the faith that propels us to our destiny.

Romans 4:13-17 (AMP)
For the promise to Abraham or his posterity, that he should inherit the world, did not come through [observing the commands of] the Law but through the righteousness of faith. 14 If it is the adherents of the Law who are to be the heirs, then faith is made futile and empty of all meaning and the promise [of God] is made void (is annulled and has no power). 15 For the Law results in [divine] wrath, but where there is no law there is no transgression [of it either].

16 Therefore, [inheriting] the promise is the outcome of faith and depends [entirely] on faith, in order that it might be given as an act of grace (unmerited favor), to make it stable and valid and guaranteed to all his descendants—not only to the devotees and adherents of the Law, but also to those who share the faith of Abraham, who is [thus] the father of us all.

17 As it is written, I have made you the father of many nations. [He was appointed our father] in the sight of God in Whom he believed, Who gives life to the dead and speaks of the nonexistent things that [He has foretold and promised] as if they [already] existed.

Abraham made a deliberate choice to have faith in God; and so the promise to him came to pass. It did not come to pass because of his obedience, but because of the righteousness of his faith. Once we understand how much our faith will make us inherit our destiny, we will rejoice.

We have an identity that makes us of the lineage of Abraham:

Genesis 17:4-8 (AMP)
As for Me, behold, My covenant (solemn pledge) is with you, and you shall be the father of many nations. 5 Nor shall your name any longer be Abram [high, exalted father]; but your name shall be Abraham [father of a multitude], for I have made you the father of many nations. 6 And I will make you exceedingly fruitful and I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.

7 And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting, solemn pledge, to be a God to you and to your posterity after you.
8 And I will give to you and to your posterity after you the land in which you are a stranger [going from place to place], all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

We are not kings because of cars, escort and treatment, houses etc. We qualify because of the promise. God will fulfill His promise not only to Agraham but also to me, as He never lies (Numbers 23:19). It does not matter what we can see; the light is becoming brighter and brighter.

The promise has already been given, and will be fulfilled. What is it that God gave to you? Can you remember anything He said regarding your life? It does not mater how long it will take, or how long it has taken; if He said you will be an international preacher or a powerful anointed worship leader etc., it shall surely come to pass. You may not know how, just believe. If God said you will dine with kings, you will.

What did God say or show you regarding your destiny/ purpose? Your identity shall be fulfilled. God is able to use anything and everything, as the earth and its fullness belongs to Him (Psalm 24:1). It is by faith. It came to pass because of faith for Abraham, and it will for us. If He did it for Abraham, He is not a respecter of persons (Acts 10:34) and will do so for us if we have faith.

Apart from salvation, there are many other promises God gave and if we stand with them, they will surely come to pass. He said we will never lack any good thing (Psalm 34:10), that healing is our portion (1 Peter 2:24, Isaiah 53:5) etc., and if we stand with these promises we'll surely see them come to pass.

Genesis 22:16-18
...and said: “By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son— 17 blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. 18 In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”

Abraham had enough faith to even believe that God could raise his son, if he sacrificed him.

Hebrews 11:17-19
By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, 18 of whom it was said, "In Isaac your seed shall be called," 19 concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense.

How much do you believe in God? We are as many as we are because one man believed. Faith will help you get to your destiny.

Hebrews 11:12
Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born many as the stars of the sky in multitude - innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.

Abraham and Noah, among others, were on earth for a purpose and knew it. Abraham was destined to be a father of many nations, and manifest to the nations the faithfulness of God; he achieved this through faith. Noah was destined to save the world and also manifest to the nations the faithfulness of God, which he also achieved through faith.

This is why our text in Romans 4 confirms that inheriting the promise is the outcome of faith:

Romans 4:16 (AMP)
Therefore, [inheriting] the promise is the outcome of faith and depends [entirely] on faith, in order that it might be given as an act of grace (unmerited favor), to make it stable and valid and guaranteed to all his descendants—not only to the devotees and adherents of the Law, but also to those who share the faith of Abraham, who is [thus] the father of us all.

Before we were even born, destiny was already predetermined. God had already written our destinies. Before were born, the promise was already given. We do not write our own destinies; God does it, and gives promise and grace. For grace to work in order for the promise to be manifested, we have to have faith. The grace will not work until we have faith. God has already given grace and the promise, but we have to have faith for them to work and be manifested.

When God knows we have faith in the promise fully, grace is put into effect. The day you realize this you will work out your salvation with fear and trembling, by faith.

Faith comes by hearing and by hearing what the Lord has said (Romans 10:17) and promised, so we have to  keep listening to God's word regarding our destinies, for our faith to grow.

Romans 4:17
As it is written, I have made you the father of many nations. [He was appointed our father] in the sight of God in Whom he believed, Who gives life to the dead and speaks of the nonexistent things that [He has foretold and promised] as if they [already] existed.

God Himself will call forth those things that are not as though they are. God is able to raise those things that are dead.

Isaiah 41:4 (AMP)
Who has prepared and done this, calling forth and guiding the destinies of the generations [of the nations] from the beginning? I, the Lord—the first [existing before history began] and with the last [an ever-present, unchanging God]—I am He.

The destinies have already been called forth, now He is guiding them. We go as our Father, calling those things that are not as though they are, calling forth our destinies as He does.

Faith makes us certain of realities we have not seen. The destiny is there. Faith will start making you see it as it is. See it as it if it is there. Do not limit the King. Have faith in Him, keeping in mind that faith is the well-grounded assurance of what we hope for.

Hebrews 11:1 (AMP)
Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

Whatever you see being manifested or fulfilling its intended purpose is as a result of faith. God is not a respecter of persons; if you believe it, it shall come to pass.

2 Corinthians 5:7
For we walk by faith, not by sight.

The propelling factor that will take us to our destiny unhindered is faith. Faith will stand over sickness, witchcraft etc. I'd urge us all to read the whole of Hebrews 11, to see how the patriarchs of faith fulfilled their destinies through faith.

Romans 10:17 tells us that faith comes by hearing and by hearing the word of God. This is to caution us to be mindful of what we hear. Things of faith will build your faith, while things that hinder faith will destroy your faith and build you faith on the negative.

Luke 17:5-6
And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.” 6 So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.

2 Timothy 1:13-14
Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.14 That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.

Hold on to the word that will build your faith.

Ephesians 6:16
...above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

On your journey on the path of your destiny, many things will come to try and hinder you; this is why you need the shield of faith, to quench them and help you keep standing on the promises of God, walking boldly on the path of your destiny.

Isaiah 7:9b
"...If you will not believe, surely you shall not be established."

You need faith, in order to be established, and stand.

2 Corinthians 1:24
Not that we have dominion over your faith, but are fellow workers for your joy; for by faith you stand.

Habakkuk 2:4b
But the just shall live by his faith.

Faith is what causes us to live, and also to please God.

Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Do you want to accomplish your destiny? Have faith in God and know the One who is able to pass your destiny.

Amen.
