Restoration and Manifestation of God’s Greatness
On your 2019 resolutions, purpose to be thankful and heed God's Word. Failure to do God's Work and giving excuses ended when the Lord gave out the Holy Spirit. There is no excuse to withholding our talents in doing God’s work.
Restoration begins with new strength
Isaiah 40:31 New King James Version (NKJV)
31 But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
Main Word
Daniel 3:19-30 New King James Version (NKJV)
Saved in Fiery Trial
19 Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury, and the expression on his face changed toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. He spoke and commanded that they heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated. 20 And he commanded certain mighty men of valor who were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, and cast them into the burning fiery furnace. 21 Then these men were bound in their coats, their trousers, their turbans, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. 22 Therefore, because the king’s command was [a]urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. 23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his [b]counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?”
They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.”
25 “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the[c] Son of God.”
Nebuchadnezzar Praises God
26 Then Nebuchadnezzar went near the [d]mouth of the burning fiery furnace and spoke, saying, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, servants of the Most High God, come out, and come here.” Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego came from the midst of the fire. 27 And the satraps, administrators, governors, and the king’s counselors gathered together, and they saw these men on whose bodies the fire had no power; the hair of their head was not singed nor were their garments affected, and the smell of fire was not on them.
28 Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who sent His Angel[e] and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and they have frustrated the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God! 29 Therefore I make a decree that any people, nation, or language which speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made an ash heap; because there is no other God who can deliver like this.”
30 Then the king [f]promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego in the province of Babylon.
The Word of God on Nebuchadnezzar and his oppression of Shadrack, Meshack, and Abednego has been discussed in various situations. He(Nebuchadnezzar) is a reflection of the people that the devil uses to oppress the people of God. Nebuchadnezzar had a previous encounter with God through Daniel when he interpreted his dream. This is an indication that God understands our every thought, act, and words. In Daniel 2, Nebuchadnezzar had fully understood God's works and miracles but as it is human nature, he forgot and created another god for himself. In life, Nebuchadnezzar reflects those prepared by the enemy to oppress Christians in their daily life.
The image created by Nebuchadnezzar represents anything that can replace the place of God our lives. The image can be money, personal interest, wealth, technology; self-seeking nature creates an idol and replaces the place of God. Everything that displaces God and stands in His place is an idol.
Nebuchadnezzar declared that failure to worship the image would lead to one being thrown into the furnace which was heated seven times. The seven times fire symbolizes the oppression in someone life. In the previous year we have been oppressed by different thing including our own families but blessed are those who have chosen to stand and declare there stand with and in God no matter what. Those who have made a firm decision to follow and believe in God despite any situation have a greater reward like Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego.
It’s the devil's strategy to place Nebuchadnezzar's in our lives to frustrate and oppress us.
The three men who never bowed to the false god were put in fire standing firm that no matter what happens they will not be shaken.
When they were put in fire, they saw Jesus in the fire. Nebuchadnezzar had to consult others and confirm of the Fourth Man in the fire. Regardless of the fire that we have been put in, we shall walk with the Fourth Man. Making Him(God) a priority means that he will be with us in all times.
It is time to know our God and trust Him.
Daniel 11:32 New King James Version (NKJV)
32 Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall [a]corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.
In reference to Isaiah 50:10(NKJV), purpose to be a person of thanksgiving and keep your vows to God and be assured that He will never leave you nor forsake you. Restoration is for those who fear the Lord and honor Him.
Nebuchadnezzar had to admit his fault, confirm and instruct that only the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego was to be worshiped. The Lord will be glorified through our life if we trust and honor Him.
It is time to be restored in 2019 by being removed form the fire and being promoted as it happened to the three men of God. Times of frustrations and embarrassment, being despised an oppressed ended in 2018 as the Lord will restore us this year.
Ponder on this:
Who is the Lord restoring?
1. Those in fellowship and oneness with God without mediocrity
We should not joke with our faith or Christianity. Be one with God reflect God's image in action and witness restoration. Those who have decided to live for God holistically shall experience true restoration.
2. Those who are staying and living in the presence of God always.
Psalm 16:11 New King James Version (NKJV)
11 You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
His presence entails reading the Word, attending fellowship and manifesting God's righteousness.
3. Those who have a God-given purpose and a mission in life
4. those who bring glory to God.
5. those who have waited on God. Isaiah 40:31
Restoration has come for God's people. Purpose to be ready to accept it.
