Trusting in God
Theme: Trusting in God
Book(s): Jeremiah 17:7
1 Samuel 17:45
Exodus 14
In English definition, to trust is to have a firm belief
in the reliability, truth, or ability of someone or something.
**When you trust in the Lord, you trust the main
source of all good things that pertain to life.**
Jeremiah 17:7-8 New King James Version (NKJV)
7 “Blessed is the
man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.
8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not [a]fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
And whose hope is the Lord.
8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not [a]fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
There is emphasis on this theme; “Trust”.
The Word of God teaches us to trust in God regardless of the
current state in our lives. The Word of God calls that man or woman or child Blessed,
whose trust is in the Lord.
In verse 8, the person who trust 100% in the Lord will
always yield fruit and they will be deep rooted in constant flow of supplication
(in reference to water).
Additionally, in times of drought or scarcity in the land,
they will not fear nor be dismayed but will always yield fruit and prosper
since his hope/trust is in the Lord fully.
Examples of individuals who held their stand in God and
trusted Him fully without doubt include:
v
Job- who lost everything but he never cursed God
nor seized to trust in Him and he was restored.
v
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego- despite seeing
the fiery furnace. They still trusted In God through it all and they were delivered.
v
Mary- who was a virgin received the report of giving
birth to the Messiah: Jesus Christ. And through her obedience and trust in God,
the Messiah came forth to the world and Transformed it to the Will of the
Father.
So, brethren, time and again we have encountered the message
of Trusting in God. So, I urge you to take the plunge and trust in God and His
will for your life regardless of your current state.
Be Blessed.
