Holiness - The Life of An Eagle

But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness . ‎Ephesians 4:20-24. A story is told of a farmer who tried to raise an eaglet among some chickens. The eaglet was taught to run around and scratch the dirt, look down always, not fly, run away from snakes and basically behave like a chicken. However, it always felt like something was missing. One day, it happened to look up and see an eagle flying high and majestically in the sky, with a snake grasped in its talons. The eaglet related to the eagle. It tried to tell the other chickens that it belonged to the eagle family, but they only mocked it. The more it saw the eagle, the more it desired to be like it.

There is Hope for the Righteous

There are times you get to a point where you seem to be on the edge; it is at such a time that you need to put your trust in the Lord. What you see in the physical is evident in the spiritual. God allows leadership for His own purpose. When there is uncertainty in the leadership, it affects the land. When there is liberty in the physical, there is liberty in the spiritual. When the environment starts to decree freedom and liberty, the same is translated to the people. The Lord surrounds those that fear Him the way the mountains surround Jerusalem. Even if all the resolutions you made in January have not come to pass, continue hoping. The disciples felt the same when they saw Jesus on the cross even after they had longed staying with Him all through. They got to a moment of hopelessness and desperation. The third day, after Christ had been buried, the plan of God was still in place. He overcame the grave. Why are you cast down O my soul? There are times you trust God for financ

Examine the Condition of Your Soul

We should always be praying over the condition of our souls. Our souls need to be liberated and set free by the Only One who can set free, Jesus Christ. What is the condition of your soul? Is it joyful, peaceful, and quiet or is it fearful, wounded, broken, tormented and so on? There are three parts of a human being - the body, soul and spirit. The body is our physical frame. We do all in our power to keep fit. We exercise, eat right, go for regular medical check- up, get enough sleep etc. People are very concerned about their physical fitness these days. You see people going to the gym, exercise classes etc. People are seen nurturing themselves spiritually. It is not uncommon to see people doing 40 day fasts, 21 day fasts, praying, doing Bible Studies, intercession and other spiritual discipline. Some people are in church everyday praising and lifting up holy hands, holding leadership positions in churches and having all forms of godliness but how does that affect the soul? Du

Let Jesus In

Mark 5:35-43 While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue's house who said, "Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?" 36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, "Do not be afraid; only believe." 37 And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James. 38 Then He came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and saw a tumult and those who wept and wailed loudly. 39 When He came in, He said to them, "Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping." 40 And they ridiculed Him. But when He had put them all outside, He took the father and the mother of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying. 41 Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, "Talitha, cumi," which is translated, "Little girl, I say to you, arise." 42 Immediately the

Who is Your Witness?

Image
Romans 1: 9 : For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of His Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers , (NKJV). A witness is someone who will give a testimony regarding our actions. In oth er words it is someone who can affirm or confirm whether what we are saying about ourselves or others is true or a lie. There can be so many other ways of defining a witness but this is the most basic one and forms the foundation of the message when taking the above verse into context. Paul had a desire to visit Rome and he tells the church there that even though he has not yet been able to visit them, God is his witness that he keeps them in his prayers always. In other words, based with our definition of a witness, he is telling them that God can confirm to them whether his claim is true or not. He had people around him, people who had been with him in ministry, but yet he never depended on these as his witnesses. He rather depende
