Doing the Word Part 1

Your life is where it is because of what you have allowed. If you do not like what you see in your life, you can change it using the Word of God. 

Jeremiah 1:12

Then the Lord said to me, "You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word." 

Isaiah 55:11

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

God is willing and to do His part in your life, which is to perform what He has said regarding your life. His word is not void of power, miracles and actions. It just needs somebody to agree with it. 

Amos 3:7-8

Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken! Who can but prophesy?

Your assignment is to say what God has said. He has already spoken concerning every aspect of our lives. God has already spoken whatever you need in your life. You should not be looking to be blessed; you are already blessed. 

According to Amos, you are already a qualified prophet who can speak the mind of God over your life. Your victory is based on your agreement with God. God has already spoken, and is looking for someone to echo what He has said for Him to perform it. He has revealed His secret to us through the Word of God, and it's upon us to study the Word of God and agree with what He has said, regarding our specific situations. 

Luke 1:13-20; 26-38

13 But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. 14 And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth. 15 For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb. 16 And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God. 17 He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
18 And Zacharias said to the angel, “How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.”
19 And the angel answered and said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and was sent to speak to you and bring you these glad tidings. 20 But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time.”

²⁶ Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, ²⁷ to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. ²⁸ And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”

²⁹ But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. ³⁰ Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. ³¹ And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. ³² He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.³³ And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”

³⁴ Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?”

³⁵ And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. ³⁶ Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. ³⁷ For with God nothing will be impossible.”

³⁸ Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Zacharias' problem was unbelief, which is what caused him to doubt what the angel of God sent him.  

If Zacharias was left speaking, he would have aborted his miracle. This is the reason as to why the angel Gabriel took away his speaking ability. The assignment was too great and Zacharias would have aborted it with the words of his mouth. Many people today are aborting their miracles by the words they speak. 

Luke 1:59-64

⁵⁹ So it was, on the eighth day, that they came to circumcise the child; and they would have called him by the name of his father, Zacharias. ⁶⁰ His mother answered and said, “No; he shall be called John.”

⁶¹ But they said to her, “There is no one among your relatives who is called by this name.” ⁶² So they made signs to his father—what he would have him called.

⁶³ And he asked for a writing tablet, and wrote, saying, “His name is John.” So they all marveled. ⁶⁴ Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue loosed, and he spoke, praising God.

The moment Zacharias agreed with God and said "His name is John," his mouth was opened and he started speaking. The moment Zacharias was ready to praise God, his tongue was loosed and he could speak again. 

If you agree with God, you will break norms. God has prepared a new name for you. Nobody may have done what He is asking you to do, but because He said it, it is possible and He is willing to do it -- as long as you agree with Him. Start to agree with God if you want the mountains in your life to be moved, just as Mary did. 

Mary was not doubting the angel, she was just seeking clarification on how God would perform the miracle. You can seek clarity, just do not ever doubt what God has said over your life. God can use anyone and at any time, whoever is willing to agree with Him. God shows no partiality:

Acts 10:34

Then Peter opened his mouth and said: "In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality."

Zacharias and Mary got the same messenger, and the same message (of birthing a son), but they all received the message differently. Zacharias chose to doubt what he was told, while Mary chose to believe and said "Let it be to me according to your word." 

We all have the same Bible, so the message and the messenger is the same. The difference between whose life God works in is who chooses to agree with God. God wants you to get to a position of total agreement with the Word of God, like Mary.

Mary first conceived in her heart, before she conceived in her womb: she first believed the miracle in her heart, when she said "Let it be to me according to your word." She believed the Word of God even before she conceived naturally, which means that her miracle was first spiritual before it became natural. The miracle you are also looking for has to start first in your heart -- you have to conceive it in your heart first, before it is revealed in the natural. You conceive by agreeing with God.

Just like a mother can never give birth if she has never conceived, you can also never birth your miracle if you have never conceived it in your spirit. A mother has first of all to interact with the seed of a man, which gets implanted in her womb, for the conception to take place. You also have to interact with the seed of the Word of God, get it implanted in your spirit before you conceive your miracle. Then and only then can you give birth to the miracle, before it is manifested in the natural.

Believing in what God has said means making an agreement with God. If God says you are blessed, make an agreement with Him and believe that you are really blessed and act like it. If He says you are healed, believe you are healed and act like it.

What do you want to see in your life? Find out what the Word of God says about it, believe it and trust God to manifest it. He did it for Mary, He can do it for you.
