Agree with God

Matthew 16:19 (NKJV)
And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

We have been given they keys. We have been given keys of, not to. These keys are not limited. Many people live in ignorance, not knowing they have the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven.

To bind something is to deny it the ability to function or work. Let us get the meaning of "binding" and "loosing" from the Amplified version, as many Christians use this wrongly.

Matthew 16:19 (AMP)
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind (declare to be improper and unlawful) on earth must be what is already bound in heaven; and whatever you loose (declare lawful) on earth must be what is already loosed in heaven. 

As Christians, we have the power to declare things as improper and unlawful on earth, by the power of our mouths. Why is this so? Jesus in this text gives us the opportunity to agree with God regarding various situations.

What is the importance of agreeing with God?

Amos 3:3
Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?

For you to be successful on earth, you have to agree with God. When you form an agreement with God, you will be at a position to know what to bind, and what to loose. Agreeing with what God has said also puts you at a position of being victorious in life. You agree with God by stating what He has said in His Word, regarding various situations.

What God has said... 

• Is settled

Psalm 119:89
Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled heaven.

The Word of God is forever settled in Heaven. Whatever God has said in your life has been settled in Heaven. Your current situation does not matter, what matters is what God has said about that situation. What God has said is final. If you want your situation to change, you have to start agreeing with what God has said regarding that situation as this is final.

• Cannot be altered

Psalm 89:34
My covenant I will not break, Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips. 

What God has said cannot be altered. If God says you are fearfully and wonderfully made, it is so. What God has said is fixed and cannot be altered. If you want walk in victory, you better stand with what has been settled - the Word of God.

You can either agree with God or with the devil, over your situation.

• Has been magnified

Psalm 138:2

I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name For Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name. 

God has magnified His Word above His name, so the best thing for you is to agree with what He has said. Refuse to agree with what you see. 

Many people choose to agree with what they see, instead of what God has said. What is the result of this? 

Proverbs 6:2

You are snared by the words of your mouth; You are taken by the words of your mouth. 

By saying what you can seeing and not minding the words that proceed from your mouth, you end up ensnaring yourself by your words. People take longer in situations because they keep ensnaring themselves, making it impossible for them to ever come out. 

The words you speak have more effect than people know. 

Ecclesiastes 10:8 - 12

He who digs a pit will fall into it, And whoever breaks through a wall will be bitten by a serpent. 9 He who quarries stones may be hurt by them, And he who splits wood may be endangered by it. 10 If the ax is dull, and one does not sharpen the edge, Then he must use more strength; But wisdom brings success. 11 A serpent may bite when it is not charmed; The babbler is no different. 12 The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious, But the lips of a fool shall swallow him up

The words you speak will either give you protection or loose the serpent on you. Whatever you speak has the power to either bind or loose. You can also either bind or loose the ability of Heaven to help you. 

Many people are being bitten by serpents they have set loose, by breaking the wall of protection over their lives by the words they speak. They are being bitten by serpents such as depression, sickness, lack, etc., and it is their own fault as they are the ones who set them loose. 

Psalm 103:20

Bless the Lord, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word. 

The angels will only heed to the voice of God, which is found in His word. They will do what you voice, when you voice God's word. Speak what God has said to give the angels the opportunity to heed to what you have spoken. 

Make an agreement with God with what you say. 

Many people continue to pray for an hour a day, which is good, but then tend to spend the rest of the day (23 hours), confessing negativities. When you confess negativities, you bind the power of God from helping you, and loose the power of the enemy over your life. This is why it is important to agree with what God has said over your situation. You can either agree with God, or agree with the devil. When you agree with God, you give Him the ability to work on your situation as He has already magnified His word above His name. 

Saying anything contrary to what God has said puts binds the ability of Him intervening in your situation. He is a faithful God, and is not a man to lie or a son of man to change His mind (Numbers 23:19). Intervening in your situation and doing the opposite of what you are saying while you keep speaking negativities over your life will make Him a liar, and gives our accuser (the devil) the right to keep you in that situation. He only intervenes when you agree with what He has said. God will work to confirm and do whatever positive things you say (according to His word), and the enemy will confirm whatever negative things you say (contrary to the Word of God). 

If you do not like the harvest, change the seed. If you do not like what you are seeing in your life, then you better change what you say. 

Isaiah 43:26

Put Me in remembrance; Let us contend together; State your case, that you may be acquitted. 

Only when you pray according to the Word of God will you have the opportunity to contend with Him, to remind Him about what He said about your situation, that you may be acquitted. God whats you to tell Him what He has said over your life for Him to acquit you. He will only answer you based on His word. 

Write down the basis on which you are basing your case (healing, financial breakthrough etc). Then put God to remembrance over what He has said about that situation. For God to answer your prayers, state your case according to His word. 

Matthew 12:37

For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned. 

Go to God after identifying the scripture that justifies you to stand before Him, and claim what you want. His Word will give you facts to justify you. 

Psalm 1:2 - 3

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. 

You were destined to prosper, not fail. Failure is not your portion. Only when you declare what God has said over your life will you prosper. Jesus Himself only spoke what God spoke:

John 12:49

For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that.

Say what God says. Agree with God.
