Principles of Fulfilling Our Destinies

Destiny is the end result that will be determined by the right choices.

The seed of God cannot be destroyed; the purposes of God cannot be thwarted. Whatever was predetermined for you shall come to pass.

Here are a few principles for fulfilling your destiny:

1. Knowing your identity.

Who are you? When you know who you are, you will know your destiny. It is identity versus destiny. It is hard to know your destiny without your identity.

The moment you know who you are, there are some things you cannot do, and these are places you will go.

People who do not know their identity and do not take time to always have an identity crisis. When you know who you are, you will know where you belong. Clans, tribes etc. can be shaken but the proper kind of identity is unshakeable; knowing whose you are. You are God's neighbor; when you know your identity, you will never be the same again.

There is a big risk when you do not know who you are.

Isaiah 51:1-2
Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness, you who seek the Lord; Look to the rock from which you were hewn, and to the hole of the pit from which you were dug. Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you; For I called him alone, and blessed him and increased him.

Genesis 13:2, 15-16
Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.

15-16
...for all the land which you see I give to your and your descendants forever. And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth, so that if a man could remember the dust of the earth, then your descendants  be numbered.

People who look and follow after righteousness are those who belong to Christ. Many people continue to associate from families that they were separated from a long time ago, when they accepted Christ. We are the descendants of Abraham, who was rich in livestock, in gold and in silver. He is our father, and his blessing is ours. What Abraham had, we can have by faith.

John 1:11-13
He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

(AMP)
He came to that which belonged to Him [to His own--His domain, creation, things, world], and they who were His own did not receive Him and did not welcome Him. But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority [power, privilege, right] to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name - Who owe their birth neither to bloods nor the will of the flesh [that of physical impulse] nor to the will of man [that of a natural father, but to God. [They are born of God!]

We have the authority, power, privilege and right to belong to God. We belong to God!

We were not born of a sperm, but of God. The flesh gave birth to us to be in the world, but we are not of the world.

1 Peter 1:17-23 (AMP)
And if you call upon Him as [your] Father who judges each one impartially according to what he does, [then] you should conduct yourselves with true reverence throughout the time of your temporary residence [on the earth, whether long or short].

You must know [recognize] that you were redeemed (ransomed) from the useless (fruitless) way of living inherited by tradition from [your] forefathers, not with corruptible things [such as] silver and gold, but [you were purchased with the precious blood of Christ (the Messiah), like that of a [sacrificial] lamb without blemish or spot.

It is true that He was chosen and foreordained (destined and foreknown for it) before the foundation of the world, but the foundation of the world, but He was brought out to public view (made manifest) in these last days (at the end of the times) for the sake of you. Through Him you believe in (adhere to, rely on) God, who raised Him up from the dead and gave Him honor and glory, so that your faith and hope are [centered and rest] in God.

Since by your obedience to the Truth through the [Holy] Spirit you have purified your hearts for the sincere affection of the brethren, [see that you] love one another fervently from a pure heart. You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God.

We have been regenerated, reborn. We are now new creatures. Get to know your identity, to stop associating with your earthly clan/ tribe. Your new identity is that of a regenerated being. Once you know your identity, you conduct yourself according to your NEW identity. We have the identity of the King of kings.

According to the new identity, we do not know defeat or failure. We are just like our GOd, who does not know defeat. When we know who we are following, we will have no fear. My bloodline is of those who know no defeat, who never give up hope.

Romans 8:31-39
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: "For your sake we are killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter."

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We have an identity that cannot be condemned. We have been justified. We are of the identity of those who are qualified to receive all things freely. We have an identity of those who cannot be separated from the love of Christ. Our identity is that of loved ones. Walk in the confidence of a loved one.

Our identity is that of more than conquerors. Nothing can separate us from the love of God.

Psalm 118:6
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

1 John 4:4
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

That is our identity, of one who is greater, in us. We are of God, with an identity of overcomers.

James 2:23
And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." And he was called the friend of God.

Knowing your identity, you will stay as a friend of God.

Galatians 4:7
Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

You are a son, not a slave.

Identity positions (see Ephesians 2:1-13). Those who have known their identity and have agreed to sit with Christ are the ones who will reign.

What is the connection between identity and destiny?

a. Identity allows me to know what to ask, and from who. You will only ask of things of where you belong.

Studying the story of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32, we see that as a son/ daughter, we are supposed to talk to God as the one who prepared, called and guided our destinies, to get what He had prepared for us. When you have known who you are, you will remain in your position, know what to ask, and from who. You can now become an heir, from being a boy.

John 11:41-42
... And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, "Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. And I know that you always hear me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me."

Jesus knew His identity, and had the boldness to pray this prayer. Knowing our identities will enable us pray like He did, knowing that our Father always hears us. It is easier to ask when we know our identities, and be confident that He is always working.

Philippians 1:6
... being confident of this very thing, that He who has began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 7:7
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."

Because of your identity, you can knock, seek, ask and receive. You ask from the right source, in the right manner, and receive.

b. Identity helps us drop off our past nature or any form that is a hindrance to our identity. Knowledge of your identity changes your lifestyle.

You should not be discouraged. Knowledge of your identity will take you to your destiny.

Amen.
