Blame
In life, nobody wants to be blamed for any wrongdoing.
People tend to transfer the blame to other parties or situations in life.
Let’s picture some examples in our minds:
When you are late for an appointment or workplace, how do we
react when questioned? Simple, we always blame the traffic, right? Yet if we
left our destinations earlier, we would not have a reason to start blaming or
if we accepted the blame and corrected on our wrongdoings, we would not shift
blame to another. There are other
situations of blame games in our lives and this is also seen in scripture.
Genesis 3:1-13 New King James Version
(NKJV)
The Temptation and Fall of Man
3 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field
which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God
indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may
eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but
of the fruit of the tree which is in
the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall
you touch it, lest you die.’ ”
4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You
will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the
day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing
good and evil.”
6 So when the woman saw that the
tree was good for
food, that it was[a]pleasant to the eyes, and a tree
desirable to make one wise,
she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and
he ate. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were
opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made
themselves [b]coverings.
8 And they heard the [c]sound of the Lord God
walking in the garden in the [d]cool of the day, and Adam and
his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among
the trees of the garden.
9 Then the Lord God called to Adam
and said to him, “Where are you?”
10 So he said, “I heard Your voice in the
garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”
11 And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from
the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?”
12 Then the man said, “The woman whom You
gave to be with me,
she gave me of the tree, and I ate.”
13 And the Lord God said to the
woman, “What is this
you have done?”
The woman said, “The serpent deceived
me, and I ate.”
When you look at verse 12, Adam was defending himself when
he was questioned by God. He blamed God first for creating the woman for him and later transferred the blame to eve who in turn transferred the blame to the
serpent.
A question to ponder
on: And what if Adam accepted his wrongdoing and repented? What would have
happened? Selah.
Brethren, do not seek to blame anyone or any situation for
your wrongdoing or circumstance, take responsibility and initiative to accept
the situation and move (do something about it). Having a victim mentality will lead to an increase of sorrow and pain in your
situation.
Believers, we have Jesus Christ in us and walk in His
authority are born to bring change to the world through taking responsibility
and initiative to bring the change that is required in the world.
God in Genesis 1:2 saw that the earth was void without form
and He did not blame the situation, rather He took initiative and spoke Light
on earth and various beautiful creations. Therefore, believers do not blame
situations in your life, remember the Authority of Jesus Christ is in you (Read John 16:33...Jesus Christ overcame
the world) so you have the mandate to bring light to the world in all
situations in your life.
