On the Mountain

What does it mean to be on the mountain?
Matthew 14:23 New King James Version (NKJV)
23 And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there.
The scripture of today edifies us to walk this journey of salvation first individually (so as to grow in the Spirit) and in unison with the brethren (so as to edify each other)
Today we are looking at the aspect of the journey of salvation alone. Understand that this does not mean not fellowshipping with the brethren rather it means understanding salvation on an individual level.
There are instances in the Bible (illustration in the above verse) when Jesus Christ separated Himself from the brethren and went to pray alone on the mountain. Believers, there comes a time when you have to separate yourself from the crowd to personally pray and edify your spirit man.
Disclaimer: this does not mean that the Spirit is not with us or fellowshipping with us.
Read
Romans 8:26 New King James Version (NKJV)
26 Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession [a]for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
In addition, the Word of God instructs us to always pray for this edifies the spirit man and aligns you constantly to the will of God. Look at the following verses;
1 Thessalonians 5:17 New King James Version (NKJV)
17 pray without ceasing,
Psalm 55:17 New King James Version (NKJV)
17 Evening and morning and at noon
I will pray, and cry aloud,
And He shall hear my voice.
What will you get on the mountain?
1.      There is provision on the mountain. Read Isaiah 25:6
2.      There is supernatural calling on the mountain. Read Genesis 22:1-5
3.      Curses, shame obstacles are destroyed on the mountain.
4.      There is an accomplishment on the mountain.
5.      There is restoration on the mountain. Read Mark 15:22

Believers, purpose a fellowship with God on the mountain and understand that a mountain means alone with God in prayer and meditation of His Word.
Be Blessed
