Believing in the God of Impossibilities

There are many things that seem like impossibilities in our lives, situations that seem beyond us. As a human being, you can come to an end and see that you cannot make it. Sicknesses, curses, troubles, and so on can bombard your life so much and you feel like you are unable to do anything about it. BUT our God, the God who created the Heavens and the earth and said “Let there be”, is able.

Genesis 1:2-3
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

In the beginning, there was a situation of hopelessness, the world being formless and with nothing. Have you ever found yourself in such a situation, a situation of formlessness, hopelessness and void? When your faith is not in God, you feel like you are empty. In this situation of hopelessness, impossibility, void in the beginning, God spoke and there was possibilities. When God comes into your situation and speaks a Word, everything changes, and amidst impossibilities numerous possibilities will manifest. The Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters, to put God’s Words into actions. With the Spirit of God hovering over your situation and life, do not fear, as God’s Word will prevail.

Genesis 15:1-6 (KJV)
After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”But Abram said, “Lord God, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” Then Abram said,“Look, You have given me no offspring; indeed one born in my house is my heir!”And behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir.” Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.

It does not matter how barren your situation seems or is, but God is able to turn it around, and make you fruitful.

Judges 13:2-3 (KJV)
And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and bare not. 3 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.

Maybe you have tried and are now tired. The wife of Manoah could not do anything about her situation, being barren. The Lord sent an angel, and the angel told her that she shall conceive, and bear a son. I want to decree upon your situation, that the situation of barrenness has come to an end in Jesus’ name. You are producing what you wanted to produce and could not, because it is not about you, but about Him. Do not try to be the macho man, trying to fix the situation on your own, as Sarah and Abraham did, in getting Ishmael; it is not about you. Let God be God in that situation.

Luke 1:27-37 (KJV)
And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. 28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be 30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. 34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. 36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

You may have come to an end, but God has not come to an end. Trust in God, and watch your situation change. With God, nothing is impossible. The Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters in the beginning, when the situation was hopeless and void, and that connotation (hovering) is the same one that was used when the angel told Mary that the Holy Ghost shall come upon her. It is the same way a hen covers eggs, for them to hatch. When a hen is sitting on eggs, and you get impatient and after a few days you go and try to help it hatch, the chick will not be produced.  When God comes in your situation and speaks a Word, that the situation has come to an end, that you are getting a breakthrough, it may not be this evening, or tomorrow, but believe that it will come to an end. Believe on His Word, and stand firm with it when the time comes, you will see it happen. Do not try to bring the Word to pass on your own. Wait on God, and have faith in His Word.

That which seems so hard with men is possible with God.

John 2:1-11 (KJV)
On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.”His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. 10 And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!” 11 This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.

This was the first miracle that Jesus did. This was His way of introducing Himself to the people, how He comes in as the God of impossible and hard situations. When there was nothing else anyone can hold on to, that is when He came in. When you face hard times, are you the kind of person who runs to people for help? When you come to a point where you have turned to people until they are tired of you, go back to God. It is good to call your pastor, but first call God up in heaven. Up there is where we get our solutions, not down here. When you face trouble, where do you turn to? You need God in all situations.

It does not matter what your situation is called; He is a God of all situations. Sometimes in our thinking we perceive to help God, see if God will use a certain person to solve our problems. Our eyes need to be on God on. If you have that big vision that you have even forgotten about, deeming it impossible, go back to it and look up to God, who is the God of impossibilities. He is able to bring that vision to pass. He is the God of impossibilities.

Whenever we put our trust in man, and think that somebody will help us out, and if we do not put God up there, it becomes idolatry. Let us not worship other gods, other people, our jobs and so on; let us trust God, and trust Him in everything.

John 11:1-10 (KJV)
Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. 2 (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.) 3 Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. 4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. 5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. 6 When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was. 7 Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again. 8 His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again? 9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. 10 But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him. 11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

Verse 14
Then Jesus said to them plainly, “Lazarus is dead."

21-24
Now Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.” 23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” 24 Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”

People had been used to seeing Jesus heal, and so were not used to such situations, of seeing dead people. That is why Mary and Martha thought that the situation had come to an end. But because our God is a God of impossibilities, He comes to the rotten and dead body of Lazarus, calls him out, and Lazarus rose from the dead. Lift your faith and see the awesomeness of the God who created and saved us, that those rotten situations are not too hard for God. If that thing you are thinking about aligns to the Word of God, God is very able and willing to do it. Is it health, money, or a situation in your family? Whatever it is, our God is able to do all. There is no impossibility to God.

Amen.
