Guard Your Heart
Proverbs 4:23
By filling your heart with God's Word, the truth, you get to guard your heart.
1. Seeking God
Jeremiah 29:13
And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
Proverbs 23:26
My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.
God promises us that we will find Him, if only we seek Him with all our hearts.
2. Trusting God
Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
Trust in God keeps our hearts safe and secure, free from worries and anxiety.
3. Loving God.
Mark 12:30
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.
There is no better way to keep our hearts safe and secure than to give it to the One who loves us most, our God and Father. By loving Him with all our hearts, we keep our hearts safe from heartbreaks, as His love never disappoints, compared with us putting our love in and on other things.
4. Letting God's peace be our peace
Philippians 4:6-7
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
By submitting all that comes our way threatening to bring anxiety our way to God in prayer, we get to access His peace, which will keep our hearts and minds secure. Anxiety targets your heart; peace guards your heart.
5. Letting God’s desires be our desires.
Psalms 37:4
Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.
When we delight in God, His desires become the desires of our hearts, and we see them granted/fulfilled.
By guarding our hearts from fear and sin, we choose blessings.
Matthew 5:8
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God

Keep
your heart with all diligence, for out of it flows the issues of life.
The heart is the biggest treasure we have
we as human beings, for out of it flows the issues of life.
David knew this and that is why he cried to God to create a clean heart in him.
Psalms 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
John
14:27
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as
the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid.
Jesus tells us to guard our hearts and stay
free from fear. He knew that someone bound in fear does not fully
understand the love of God over their lives. More-so, fear cripples faith.
Fear is always brought about by viewing
everything in the physical and the only way to overcome fear is by
guarding our hearts through the word of
truth:
Luke
6:45
A
good man out of good treasure of the heart brings forth good, and an evil man
out of evil treasures of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance
of the heart the mouth speaks.
By filling your heart with God's Word, the truth, you get to guard your heart.
