A Heart of Thanksgiving (...cont)

Causes of an ungrateful heart Like we said last week, no one on earth has any reason to complain. If we sit down and bring to our remembrance all that God has done for us, we will find ourselves on our knees thanking Him, if not with teary eyes repenting for being ungrateful. Right from birth, our lives have been a miracle. Many children die before they are born; we lived through and had a successful birth. Many children lose their parents during birth, or are born with diseases or infirmities. Some die in their early years of infancy. Diseases have attacked some of us all through, being in and out of hospitals, but we are still here. Some have gone through abuse and neglect, some have grown up without parents, but God’s grace still ensured we are here. We have all rebelled against God at one point or another and deserved death, but even in our rebellion God still preserved us, and we came through. Many people die in their rebellion. The devil had a right to kill and destroy us wh

A Heart of Thanksgiving

Many people keep asking one key question, especially in this new dispensation of grace that we are in. Knowing full well that we are under grace and that Christ changed everything, including how God relates with man, we all have at some point wondered that if all that we are taught really changed, why do we still have the Old Testament? I mean, we are told that grace changed everything, and the way God deals with us is not the way He dealt with the people who were under the law, because “while the Law was given through Moses, grace (unearned, undeserved favor and spiritual blessing) and truth came through Jesus Christ.” John 1:17 (AMP). So God does not deal with us on basis of the law, but of grace (God’s unearned, undeserved favor and blessing). So, why do we still have the Old Testament with us, and the law? According to the scriptures, these things were written for our admonishing, so that we may learn from them. They were written so that we see what grace did for us. Many thin

Trusting in the Lord (cont...)

Psalm 125:1-2 (AMP) Those who trust in, lean on, and confidently hope in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides and stands fast forever. 2 As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about His people from this time forth and forever. If we trusted God, we would be so relaxed that we can let go and allow Him to hold us with His arms. If you trust in the Lord God Almighty, lean on Him and have your confidence remains in God, you will be like Mt. Zion, that cannot be shaken. In the times we are in, there are so many Christians that are being shaken. These are the ones who get moved easily around with what they hear, about churches, economy rising etc. If your trust is in God, no matter what you hear or see, you will hold on to God, knowing that you cannot be shaken. These are people who are surrounded by God, and whatever comes your way finds His surrounding.     Deuteronomy 33:27 The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath

Trusting in the Lord

Jesus Christ will never fail us. Everything else can disappoint us; holding onto Jesus Christ, our mighty fortress, will keep us safe and secure. As believers, we shall be able to sing and celebrate on a daily basis, when we put our trust in Him, who is our mighty fortress. He shall enable us to sing that our hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.  On Christ the solid Rock I stand, a ll other ground is sinking sand; a ll other ground is sinking sand. In order to hold onto the Fortress, we need to believe. We cannot hold onto that which we do not believe in. Proverbs 3:5-8  Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones. Trusting in the Lord is having an assurance, confidence, faith and belief in Him. It is life beyond w
