Which Cross Are You Hanging On?

Luke 23:32-33 (NIV)     Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed. When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified him, along with the criminals — one on his right, the other on his left.   The message at Calvary is a summary of the journey of a Christian. The fruit of the tree of life which was in the midst of the Garden of Eden, which man had access to but didn’t eat of, is represented by Jesus Christ on the cross at Calvary, which is now available for all , while the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil is represented by the repentant criminal and further still the fig tree that Adam and Eve improvised to hide their nakedness thus denoting rebellion represented by the criminal who hurled insults at Jesus Christ. Genesis 2:9   And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden , and the tree of knowledge

Sent

Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me ". John 8:42. The moment you realize and acknowledge the fact that you are not here on earth running your own personal errands and living your own life, your life will change. There is a huge difference between someone who goes to the UK to study, the Kenyan ambassador to the UK. One has sent themselves, and are about their business, while the other has been sent by the nation, and this one's life in the UK revolves about the nation's business, the commissioner. The one who has gone out to study has the liberty to be absorbed by the culture of the hosting nation, and even be changed to be a citizen of the nation, but an ambassador does not have that liberty or privilege.  Jesus kept acknowledging in His life that He did not come on His own accord, but was sent by God. This caused Him to live differently from others in His

The Wisdom of the Age

God is the Source of all things. The devil always counterfeits what comes from God. There can only be one genuine wisdom, and the other counterfeit wisdom. The wisdom of the age is just but a counterfeit of the wisdom of God.  1 Corinthians 2:1-8 (KJV) And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: {enticing: or, persuasible} 5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.  6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, whi

Seeing the Unseen

2 Corinthians 4:18 ...while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal . First of all the scripture above sounds a bit ambigous or rather a paradox to our minds because how can you look at something that is unseen?  However, as believers we do not walk by sight, but by faith (2 Cor. 5:7). In other words, faith is our inner eye. Walking does not mean taking steps from one place to another, it means the decisions and choices that we make in our everyday lives that ultimately shape the direction of our lives here on earth. The choice to be happy, to be thankful, to be a blessing to somebody, to laugh and be joyful; all these are the steps that we take in our everyday 'walk' in this life on earth. That is why we ought not to make these 'steps' being guided by our physical eyes, but our Spiritual eyes. Therefore, we are being encouraged to use th

Relating Well with God and Man

We serve a relational God. He has desired to have a relationship with us for a long time and has prepared a way for us to enter into that relationship. When a person comes through faith which is in Christ Jesus and passes from spiritual death to life, a transaction takes place that has many implications. One of these is a complete and full reconciliation with God and the start of a new relationship. It is a relationship that is full, deep and rich. We were given the Holy Spirit to help us in relating with God. The core is not how much we are giving God but it is about how much we are walking with Him. Our God is not of remembrance when we are desperate for Him or a pick and go relationship. God desires a relation where we relate to Him as our Daddy and always fellowshiping with Him. Our role is to be transparent, showing our relationship with God. He has no problem blessing us as Christians, that is, representing Him in the world with excellence. Let’s us not be guided by the physica
