Guarding Yourself

Many times Christians find themselves in situations which they cannot address in their ability. This requires one to apply the word of God, as a weapon. How effective are you in doing so? In battlefield a soldier is required to be fully equipped without leaving behind a single weapon for the war. No soldier can go to war without a gun or weapon of warfare. We are in the world, with many things fighting against Christians. Our war not physical, but against principalities of the devil. The good thing is that we have mighty weapons of war. 2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds... God has given us His whole armor: Ephesians 6:13-17 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14  Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15  and having shod your feet with the preparatio

Real Freedom

We are in times when globally people are talking about freedom and working so hard towards political, economic, social, cultural, financial, psychological or marital freedom. The systems of this world seek to mimic God’s intended purpose, but they miss out on Him because more often than not, they are totally dependent on the wisdom of men rather than on the Spirit of God. The kind of freedom the world is campaigning for in our times is contrary to real or true freedom. Some people think real freedom comes from having a lot of money and having no one to question how the money is spent. Some others think that real freedom is having a lot of free time with no accountability of how they spend it. For others, it is having friends, talking and doing anything with them and not being questioned at all. Politically, some think it is having unlimited power and doing anything what one wants, without accountability and responsibility. There are some in church who are deceived to think freedom

Faith in the Grace of God

As we have been told in the previous teaching on Pressing On by Pastor Mary Mugo, we ought to always press on in the calling of God over our lives, as that is the only way we will reach the goal and glorify God through our lives. This teaching is a continuation of that message, to build up on one of the points she spoke about on how to press on, that is putting our hope and trust in the Lord. I want to talk about having faith in the grace of God.  2 Corinthians 12:7-10 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. 8  Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 9  And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10  Therefore I take pleasure i

Living in God's Time (God Will Never Be Late)

Habakkuk 2:3 “ For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, it will not tarry” This was God’s answer to Prophet Habakkuk after asking God when He was going to act. The righteous people of God were under the oppression of the Babylonians. They were terribly suffering and what was worse was that they were righteous people under the oppression of the unrighteous. Habakkuk is speaking with a sense of urgency because the situation had gotten to its worst point; its boiling point. However, God responds with a calm voice and says that at the right time, He will come through for them. Honestly, it is easy for the human mind to question what God is speaking here, which is the better time than now? People are suffering here, God; can’t you see the mess? This is similar to many of our situations today; many of us have asked God the same question Habakkuk asked. God can’t you see wha

Pressing On

It's one thing to start a journey, and another thing to end the journey. You'd rather finish the journey crawling, but complete it. It's one thing for brethren to start the journey of faith, but the question remains if you'll purpose to finish, irrespective of the mountains, fires, persecutions and so on. As long as you're with God, purpose that you'll never look back. The aim of the devil is to distract someone, so that he'll give you something that will be a distraction, or give you a diversion. My prayer today is that our entire being will never focus on the distractions. The intentions of the distractions is destruction. The distractions look so sweet, but they are diversions that will take us to destruction. Heaven is for real, and there's somewhere we are going. We are being awaited in heaven, to go and rest. We cannot allow anything to distract us, and keep us from achieving God's goal for us. 1 Corinthians 9:24 Do you not know that those

What Do You Have?

Exodus 4:2  And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, a rod. In Exodus chapter 3, God called Moses with an intention to send him to Egypt to go and deliver the Israelites from slavery. In vs. 11 Moses asked God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh...?” In other words, he was saying "I can’t go." He continued to give God reasons why he thought he could not do it. In your walk of faith, have you ever found yourself saying "I can’t God, no it’s so hard", or "Send someone else," or "I don’t have what it takes? " Do you know you might be having something and you do not know you have it? Do you know you might be having the exact thing you say you are in need of? God had to physically manifest the power Moses had in him through what he was holding. Note: this had nothing to do with the rod, It was all about Who was with Moses - God. When you have God, you have all you need for the task before you. It is ver

Whose Image are You Reflecting?

Galatians 2:11-15 Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed; 12  for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision. 13  And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy. 14  But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, “If you, being a Jew, live in the manner of Gentiles and not as the Jews, why do you compel Gentiles to live as Jews? 15  We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles... Here we see Peter withdrawing himself from the company of the Gentiles since he was afraid to be seen by the Jews. Before the Jews came, he was comfortable eating with the Gentiles, but the arrival of the Jews made him change his behaviour.  This brings me to d
