The Greatest Act of Worship

Image
T he greatest purpose God created us for is worship. There are many forms of worship. God never tells us to do something without telling us how to do it, or enabling us to do it. The greatest act of worship is obedience, or surrender . When you surrender to God, you're being obedient to Him. Worship is not just doing things in our lives; worship revolves around obedience, and surrender. Mark 12:28-34 Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the first commandment of all?” 29  Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30  And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. 31  And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Dealing with Enemies of Purpose

Purpose is when you know what you were called and born to accomplish. Vision is when you see it in your heart. God has called each one of us for a purpose, and wants us to accomplish it. Keeping in mind the first two teachings on purpose ( Discovering God’s Purpose for Your Life and Matching your Job/Career with your Calling ), let us now look at some enemies that threaten to hinder us from accomplishing our purpose, and how to deal with them. 1.        Lack of knowledge Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.   Lack of knowledge was an active sin against God, looking at this Scripture. For you and me, who are born again, Jesus is our wisdom. We cannot afford to be in a place where we’re being destroyed by lack of knowledge, because, Jesus is our wisdom (1 Cor. 1:30). The greatest t

The Lord is telling us today to come out from amongst them, and be united with Christ (2 Cor. 6:14-18). The Bible tells us in 2 Cor. 5:17 that anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. Being a new creation, we have no business with darkness. The Bible says that two cannot walk together unless they are in agreement (Amos 3:3). Some of us have boyfriends and girlfriends, who are not saved, yet we expect to glorify God in our lives. There is nothing as good as being in a relationship that Christ Himself approves, and this is a relationship that is of the light. When I got the calling of God over my life, I realised that I couldn’t have a separation of my calling, with salvation. Have we freely given Jesus every area of our lives? There shouldn’t be a separation between our career lives, personal lives and spiritual lives. Today I am talking to us as people who have Christ’s minds (1 Cor. 2:16). God’s Word is going to align us with His purpose, for our lives. Colossians 3:23
