We’ve got to be and do as God expects of us. Now let me sing to my Well-beloved a song of my Beloved regarding His vineyard: My Well-beloved has a vineyard on a very fruitful hill. He dug it up and cleared out its stones, and planted it with the choicest vine. He built a tower in its midst, and also made a winepress in it; So He expected it to bring forth good grapes, but it brought forth wild grapes. 3 “And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge, please, between Me and My vineyard. 4 What more could have been done to My vineyard that I have not done in it? Why then, when I expected it to bring forth good grapes, did it bring forth wild grapes? 5 And now, please let Me tell you what I will do to My vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it shall be burned; And break down its wall, and it shall be trampled down. 6 I will lay it waste; It shall not be pruned or dug, but there shall come up briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain on

Sometimes in serving God we may feel like it's all in vain, like there is no benefit to what we are doing. Time and time again God reminds us in His Word that serving Him has never been in vain. Let us look at a few stories from the Bible that demonstrate this, so that you and I can be encouraged to keep serving God, and serve Him with all we have.  2 Kings 4:1-7 A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.”  2 So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”  3 Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. 4 And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into al

1 Corinthians 14:1 Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts,   but especially that you may prophesy. In today’s world, many things have been twisted around, priorities inverted, needs redefined, perspectives warped and so on. As believers, we should remain on course, allowing the Word of God to help us live in righteousness and truth. Righteousness is not just a right standing with God; it’s things as they should be. Jesus told Pilate: …“You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” John 18:37 (Emphasis added) Earlier on, David had said; Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed. Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from heaven. Psalm 85:10-11 John said: For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:17
