EXAMINE YOURSELF ( By Minister Fridah)


 ‭2 Corinthians 13:5 NIV‬

[5] Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?  

The Lord is calling us to examine ourselves that we may not be found as those who have drifted. We are encouraged to look to the word; that has power to transform, and to use it to see of we are being transformed by it. We are also called to be attentive to the word of the Lord and to be rightly positioned for the word of the Lord to be revealed and fulfilled. 

‭Luke 8:11-15 NIV‬

[11]  “This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. [12] Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. [13] Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. [14] The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. [15] But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop. 


‭1 Corinthians 1:18 NIV‬

[18] For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Let us therefore look back and reflect and see whether we are truly still in the faith.

Serving God Has Never Been in Vain

Sometimes in serving God we may feel like it's all in vain, like there is no benefit to what we are doing. Time and time again God reminds us in His Word that serving Him has never been in vain. Let us look at a few stories from the Bible that demonstrate this, so that you and I can be encouraged to keep serving God, and serve Him with all we have.  2 Kings 4:1-7 A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord. Overcoming the Enemies of Our Destinies

There are enemies ready and armed to prevent us from getting to our destinies. Wherever there is a vision, there is opposition.  Elisha was given by God to Elijah as a servant, and as a result he received a double portion of the anointing on Elijah's life, when Elijah left (2 Kings 2:15). God in turn gave Gehazi to Elijah as a servant, who sadly could not get to his destiny because he was overcome by the enemies of destiny (2 Kings 5:20-27).  As a Christian, be alert as there are enemies out to hinder you from getting to your destiny, and walking in it.  In John's open letter to the churches in Asia, John addresses these enemies: 1 John 2:15-17 Do not love the world or the things in the world.
