Holding On

Numbers 23:19
God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?

How much do you trust God? Are you about to throw in the towel? Are you looking to the Bible for perseverance and peace? These are questions we all have to ask ourselves. We certainly need to understand and trust God's words to live as found in the Bible. We need to find God to be trustworthy in meeting our needs and guiding us through a series of critical decisions and situations.

Our trust needs to be in God and Him alone, and our eyes on Him.

Zephaniah 3:17

The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

God rejoices over you, and loves doing you good. He never fails. Just trust Him, and watch Him come through for you. As long as God is with you, your story is still not yet over. Wait on him patiently, asking Him what you are supposed to be doing, while waiting. Many ‎people wait on God, without asking Him for instructions on what to be doing while waiting. As you wait on God, let Him tell you what to do while waiting. Let Him comfort you and strengthen you, while you wait.

John 4:13-14
Jesus said to her, "Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."

Take advantage of that period of waiting on God, and be intimate with Him. A time is coming when you will look back and wish you went back and spent more time learning from God, as you waited on Him. Instead of regretting, start knowing God now, as you wait. He has put so much in you, so much more than you can ask for. Let this flow out of you, as you wait on Him and hold on to Him. Let what He has put in you flow out as a river, and be a blessing to others, while waiting on Him. The rivers He put in you should not stop flowing because you are in need or waiting on God; keep ministering, being a blessing, and as you do so, God will keep replenishing you.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

You have to be convinced that God will do what He said He will do, even without seeing the signs, and keep thanking God and serving Him, even as you wait. See it done in the spirit, way before it manifests in the physical, and give thanks. This is faith. ‎Faith never disappoints, as God never disappoints.

John 15:4-5
"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. "

Keep bearing fruit, even as you wait on God, and hold on to Him. Let Him fulfill you. Without ‎Jesus we can do nothing. As long as you are in Him and doing what He tells you to do, you will keep bearing fruits. Do not worry about time or about others, you just run your race, fixing your eyes on Jesus, your vine.

Read Psalm 34, and see the happiness experienced by those who trust in God.

I will leave you with a quote by C.S. Lewis, on Hoping For Something More:

We do not want to merely "see" beauty–though, God knows, even that is bounty enough. We want something else which can hardly be put into words–to be united with the beauty we see, to pass into it, to receive it into ourselves, to bathe in it, to become part of it.

Most people, if they had really learned to look into their own hearts, would know that they do want, and want acutely, something that cannot be had in this world. There are all sorts of things in this world that offer to give it to you, but they never quite keep their promise.

Hold on to God.

Blessings.
