Let Him Take the Wheel

Mathew 11:28-30
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke uponyou and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Matthew 11:29-30 (AMP)
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] 29Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. 30 For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good—not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.

Many times we find ourselves fighting for things we ought to have let go a long time ago. We should always remember that God’s will is for us to have rest and peace because He has already sorted everything out.

It is important to understand that apart from Him loving us unconditionally, He also cares for us deeply:

1 Peter 5:7
...casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Take a practical example. Before you let anyone drive you, there has to be an element of trust. This is built through the knowledge you have about them, or you having seen them drive before. When you have been driven around by someone often enough, you develop a trust for that person, and you can even sleep when they are driving, believing to be safe. If you have been driven by someone recklessly before, it is hard to gain their trust when driving you.

The same case applies to trusting God; if you are to let Jesus take the wheel you, you must trust Him. You must know what you have seen Him do before, and based on what He has done for you, trust Him.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

You need to believe in Him also for you to be able to depend on Him entirely. For you to believe Him, you have to know about Him, which happens through spending time with His Word, and in prayer. The more you know Him through the Scriptures, the more you will believe and trust in Him.

Mathew 6:25-34
“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

God is aware of our needs and wants us to have faith in Him because then we will not have worry. Do not let unbelief hinder you from receiving from God. He shall provide for you according to His riches in glory.

Philippians 4:19
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

God shall not just supply physical or material needs but also spiritual, emotional and so on.  Enjoy rest in allowing your Father remain in control of your life:

Hebrews 4:10
For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.

Let Him drive you through life, and rest calmly. As you rest, enjoy peace, remembering that it is activated by prayer:

Philippians 4:6-7
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Therefore walk like an heir because you are, through Jesus. Do not walk like a fatherless child because you have a Father who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, and above all that we ask or think according, to the power that works in us (Eph. 3:20). Do not limit Him.

Let go and let God.

You are blessed!
